Reston resident Allan Webb broke another record, this time it had been a record held for 25 years in the mile run. He completed it in 3 minutes 46.91 seconds, breaking Steve Scotts previous record. This was not Allan Webb’s first record breaker, while attending South Lakes he broke a 36 year old record, for the high school mile run. For his first record breaking run it was in a crowed stadium. This time it was only in front of a few hundred people, seated in plastic seats.
This recent victory seems to further propel South Lakes return to sports victories. But even better it seems to show a resurgence in American running supremacy.
