Reston resident Allan Webb, who we previously blogged about is at another competition today. Today Webb will be competing in the 1500 meters at the IAAF world championship in Japan. Even though Webb beat the world record for that run last week, he barely qualified to make it the IAAF finals. As reported by the Washington Times, Webb said “I wasn’t aggressive enough at the start” he later added, “It almost cost me a spot in the final.”
Update
Webb came in 8th place at the Osaka competition but, America still won. Keyan born Bernard Lagat won the competition, bringing America it’s first win in the 1500 meter since 1908.
