Reston Citizen

This photographer from Liverpool, England choose to focus on the historical aspects of Lake Anne for the photo. The desaturated colors defiantly bring back memories, maybe not from the 60s, but from the 70s.

Weather for Tuesday, September 11th: Showers and thunderstorms likely before 8am, then a chance of showers between 8am and 2pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 84. West wind between 7 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

One of the things about Reston I love is it’s abundance of nature. This is part of my photography series called Urban Nature. I tried to grab shots for this series in Manhattan but that didn’t work out too well.

This photos reminds me of the connection between humans and our built world. The geometry and non uniform shadow seen to further enforce this idea.

Weather for Friday September 7th: Sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming south between 5 and 8 mph.

I’m not exactly sure what to say about this photo. My first thought, is this is to beautiful to be in Reston. But I then read the description, which states “A walking path between Acton & Hunting Horn, near the Walker Nature Center.” Either ways this photo is to beautiful to say what’s good and not good about it.

This was taken in Chicago, Illinois, far from Reston. But the shear creativity of this shot got it published. It’s actually of a Firestone tire repair shop.

The lights. The action. And the camera was at the right place. Well maybe not in that order, but anyways this was really an exceptional picture of the fountain at the Reston Town Center.

If you’re like me Labor Day is probably going to be your last outdoor cooking thing of the year. So for no other reason besides sentimental value I’ve chosen this picture. Well maybe more than that because the lomofied colors really help with the mood.

The colors make this photo intriguing and unique. It seems to show sunset at midday. Maybe it’s a message about the change at Reston Town Center, if so it’s further enhanced by the presence of that crane.
